Global Design Project #105 - Colour Challenge

The card I'm sharing today is for the latest Global Design Project challenge #105 - a colour challenge. I haven't done anything for the GDP is a few months and I was so enticed by this week's colours I knew I wanted to have a go!

I went back to using one of my all-time favourites with this card - Birthday Blooms. If you're a regular visitor here you'll know I love colouring and these colours just made me want to colour!

I broke out some more of the Wood Textures DSP because I wanted a bit of a natural look to this card. I watercoloured the flower lightly in Peekaboo Peach before doing another detailed layer in the same colour. I added more detail with the Tangerine Tango and finally used the Tangerine Tango marker too add some fine detail lines. The leaves were easier, just varying my depth of colour with the Lemon Line Twist.

I added some gold details to the card, including the sentiment, just to make the card pop a little. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I tried to pick a sentiment that wasn't going to overwhelm the flower and I think the cute little golden sentiment adds to the charm.
