With Sympathy - Kylie's International Blog Highlights

Jo's Stamping Spot - Kylie's International Blog Highlights

The card I have for you today is one I thankfully don't have to make very often *cross fingers/touch wood*. I'm joining in with Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for October with a card for Change of Life circumstances. You can see the gallery of cards on Kylie's blog HERE and even throw me a vote if you really like my card, but please do spend 5 minutes and vote for 5 cards. All entries are very worthy of your vote.

Sympathy cards are a double edged sword for me. On one hand it means someone we love and care about has lost someone they love and care about, on the other hand I want that person to know that I am thinking of their loss and letting them know I am there for them if they need me to be. This one is flying across the country as I write and I hope it helps comfort the recipient in some small way.

I never do a sympathy card that is over the top, it's just not needed. I added a simple DSP layer from the Wood Textures DSP to my base, lightly watercoloured a piece of watercolour paper and added to that a coloured flower image from the You've Got This stamp set. A simple sentiment and some natural twine just finished off my card.

I also decided to stamp and colour the envelope as an extra touch.

  3. Hello Jo, this is a very gorgeous card and with the Sympathy sentiment added makes is so extra beautiful.
The time you have added to the fussy cutting and the colouring is a wow factor
I adored the Wood-grain DSP you have used for the background, and the colours are so bright and alive. Which we all need to remember, when we send these cards. It is to celebrate their life of who and want they were and did. Not of wallow in the death.
These cards are to give inspiration to the recipient and this card surely do that.

Absolutely knocked out of the park with this card.
    Cheers From Australia xxx
