Jo's Stamping Spot - Just Add Ink Challenge #427

I really didn't have all that many 'K' items in my supplies. I only came up with kangaroos, koalas, kittens, knight, kettle or a kindness sentiment. I wanted to do something different so I tried a technique (starting with K) that I'd never done before!

I went on over to Splitcoast Stampers to check out all the different techniques and prayed that there was one or two starting with a K. I actually found two - the kissing technique (which wouldn't have really gone very well with my current selection of stamps) or the Kaleidoscope technique.

I decided to give the Kaleidoscope technique a go but the only patterned paper I really had that was suitable was some old Sycamore Street DSP! I linked the tutorial above but it's very similar to making a starburst card except you need to start cutting the paper so you end up with exactly 8 pieces the same, hence why Sycamore Street DSP was the only suitable paper I had. Anyway, give the tutorial a read, you can get some amazing results. I think perhaps my pattern was too busy so after layering over the middle where all the pieces meet you can't see much of the kaleidoscope (*sad face*). Oh well. I did finish the card off, layering some Whisper White and some more of the same DSP pack, a lovely Rich Razzleberry butterfly and some glimmer paper and ribbon. As much as you can't really get a feel for the technique with this paper I am pleased with the end result.
