Jo's Stamping Spot - Social Stamping Blog Hop - Thank You

I'm back with another #SocialStamping Blog Hop today, hosted again by the fabulous Kelly Kent, and this week we have the theme of 'Thank You'.

Jo's Stamping Spot - Social Stamping Blog Hop - Thank You

There are so many people we can and need to thank in the current climate, nurses, doctors, front line responders, even local heroes that may have helped you out in some small way. This hop is to give you some inspiration to make those 'Thank You' cards and send them out.

I'm trying to spread the stamping love between what sets I use and for this card I've gone back to the Annual Catalogue and one of my favourite stamp sets, Good Morning Magnolia. I love the simplicity of this large flower image and the way you don't have to use a lot with it.

The beautiful flower stamp was embossed in Shimmer White embossing powder onto Shimmery White cardstock. To colour it I literally threw some colours together for this one. I started with the leaves in Shaded Spruce but decided it needed a lighter colour so I added some Granny Apple Green to the tips and let the water to the work. I coloured the flower in Pretty Peacock to start with but it needed more so, for whatever reason, I pulled out Blueberry Bushel and virtually did the same as I did to the leaves. The mix of colours worked really well which totally surprised me!

I cut a Stitched Nested die cut from Whisper White and used a baby wipe with the two green colours on it to stamp some leaves as a background. The base is Pretty Peacock with the Birch background and the nested die and flower were layered over the top. I embossed the 'Thank You' sentiment from Peaceful Moments onto Basic Black and simply trimmed around it. Some rhinestones finish off my card.
