Welcome to another Just Add Ink Challenge! This week we have challenge #419 and we've been asked to add a 'twist' to our cards by Kelly!

Jo's Stamping Spot - Just Add Ink Challenge #419

To add a 'twist' meant using something in the way it was not intended. My first thought was to use a Christmas stamp as a birthday stamp and I played around with that idea for a while until I came to the conclusion it wasn't going to work and gave up lol. I came up with another idea to perhaps use a die for which its shape could be taken as something else. That idea failed too because I simply ran out of time. So third time was a charm and this card came together (thank goodness!).

I kept on with the die idea but instead of using them to cut I decided to try the new embossing mats. I whipped out the new Springtime Impressions dies and created an embossed background with the largest of the dies on some beautiful new Balmy Blue cardstock. I paired this with some Blueberry Bushel inks and papers and the butterfly die from the same die set and this was the creation that came out. I'm not overly happy with it only because I think it needed a third colour or some metallics but the embossing of the dies gave a great background to work with!
