Welcome back to our latest Just Add Ink challenge! This week we have a colourful and festive inspiration challenge for you!
When I first saw the inspiration picture I immediately noticed the white, the silver and the rainbow of colours. I thought of trying to incorporate a Christmas tree but it just didn't work.
When I was little our tree used to be silver tinsel and the cotton-covered baubles were a multitude of colours and this picture made me think of that so I went with it as my inspiration, but in a modern way.
I started out with Basic White base and layer. I embossed the layer first with the Tasteful Textile folder and then stamped the large, ornate star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set (long retired) in Versamark and heat-embossed it with the Shimmer White (also retired) embossing powder. My next step was to cut out the 'Merry' and coloured each letter with Stampin' Blends. I popped these up by using some Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back of the cardstock BEFORE I cut the letters out. I then cut the Basic Black 'Christmas' from the Merry Christmas dies, also with the Foam Adhesive sheets on the back (but leaving off the top of the tall letters).
To finish the card I splattered some Frost White ink on my embossed white layer, some Wink of Stella to the 'Merry' letters and added some silver sequins.
So I hope you feel inspired to enter our challenge and make sure to drop by the Just Add Ink blog to check out more inspiration!
