Although it's not really my week I'm jumping into this week's Just Add Ink challenge because they have a gorgeous floral inspiration pic that is just up my alley!
If you are a frequent visitor you would know I love to do floral cards so when I saw this challenge I just had to join in!
We had a very special birthday in our household last week, my daughter turned 18! I cannot believe both my kids are now adults! Anywho, we were discussing birthday presents and she surprised me by telling me her favourite colour was yellow (after all these years thinking it was blue and purple which you can see in my blog history!). As with all my previous years birthday cards I've made for the kids I have tried to use things that suit their interests so a yellow(-ish) card it was!
I started by cutting out the back layer of the flowers using Fluid 100 paper and the top layer from normal Basic White cardstock. I used Daffodil Delight ink and a Water Painter to colour the Fluid 100 layer just very randomly and then stuck the Basic White layer over the top. I adhered these on a Gray Granite base and layers cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I cut an '18' out of vellum cardstock and finished the card with some ribbons and a small sentiment.
As always remember to drop by the Just Add Ink blog to see all the other lovely DT inspiration and I hope to see you join in with us this week!
