Welcome to another Friday and our latest Just Add Ink challenge! This week we have an earthy colour challenge for you!
I don't think I have ever worked with colours as strong and deep as these and I thought I would have to come up with something masculine. I was in the middle of something else when this retired stamp set came back across my desk and I think the end result is very 'me'.
Colouring is probably my favourite thing to do when I make something, either using Blends or watercolouring although I think watercolouring is my go-to as it totally relaxes me. I chose to watercolour this card because it would give me muted tones of the challenge colours. I find it hard to use the Black embossing powder, it ends up everywhere, so this time I stamped my image twice using my Stamparatus and Memento and then stamped over the top with Versamark and used Clear embossing powder instead and I think it looks a little crisper. I coloured the flower with Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow and popped it up on a Crumb Cake circle.
To complete the card I used a Misty Moonlight base, a layer of Silver and white DSP and some varying retired ribbons. The sentiment is from the Artistically Inked stamp set and I added some Wink of Stella to the watercolouring and some retired Misty Moonlight enamel dots as finishing touches.
I hope you like my take on our colour challenge. You can pop over to the Just Add Ink blog and see all the other inspiration and perhaps enter yourself!
