Global Design Project 069 - Colour Challenge

What else do you do when it gets hot but sit inside in the air conditioning and craft? While I was waiting for the southerly winds to hit last night and cool things down I made this card for this week's Global Design Project!

I generally have a lot of trouble using Delightful Dijon and I can really only enjoy the colour when it is a shade or two lighter so I knew I wanted to watercolour with the colour and keep it from being overpowering. I chose the single flower from the Special Reason set but instead of stamping the image with the stamp I used the thinlit from the coordinating set Stylish Stems to cut out a mask of the stamp and I used my aqua painters to lightly colour the flower with the mask. Removing the mask and I added a couple of other layers to add depth to the image. I then cut the painted flower out with another of the thinlits. I paired the Delightful Dijon flower with some Tip Top Taupe to make the flower stand out and then added some silver accessories.
