Jo's Stamping Spot - Just Add Ink Challenge #446

Isn't it a colourful picture! Lots of beautiful bright colours to work with! For my card I took inspiration from the flowers and the lovely yellows and oranges and reds.

This would have been a great opportunity to colour in a lovely flower with the Stampin' Blends but alas I am a bit limited on flowery stamps at the moment so I went the next best thing and stamped them! I used the Abstract Impressions set to make my flowery background layer, using Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove and Poppy Parade. So it didn't stand out so much I coloured the unstamped portion of the Whisper White cardstock with Petal Pink Blends markers, making it look a little like DSP!

Using the Rectangle Stitched and Stitched Shapes Framelits I cut the two background layers and my Petal Pink circle. I layered ribbons and glimmer paper underneath the circle and topped of the butterfly with some pearls. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays and is embossed in white.

I couldn't help myself so I made the inside to match using a piece of the homemade DSP that was cut off when I ran it through the Big Shot.

I think this card came out OK. Not my normal colour scheme so down the road might try it in other colours more my style. Anyways, make sure you drop by the Just Add Ink blog to check out all the other Design Team inspiration for this challenge and I hope you find the time to enter!

  1. OMG, I hadn't even realised that your background was stamped until you mentioned it - I thought it was DSP. I love your card, it's so bright and happy.

  2. I too thought your background was DSP, Jo :-) Such a fabulous job of stamping and I love your colour choices here and the soft and textural ribbon banners and bright, white butterfly are gorgeous focal points. xx
